DRY IMPINGER METHOD FOR CONDENSABLE PARTICULATE MATTER EMISSION TESTING |
|
Air Control Techniques, P.C. developed a modified version of conventional Method 202 to minimize the biases to higher-than-true test results caused by aqueous phase reactions of soluble gases absorbed into the Method 202 impinger solutions. We termed this the "Dry Impinger" version of Method 202. Additional information concerning the Dry Impinger Method is available in the November 2005 paper by Air Control Techniques, P.C. in the Air & Waste Management Association Hazardous Waste Specialty Conference Proceedings. In December 2010 EPA promulgated the dry impinger method as EPA Reference Method 202. This new test method provides more accurate data on condensable particulate matter emissions and reduces the vulnerability of industrial sources to false indications of noncompliance related to the artifact formation problem that significantly affected the accuracy of the previous version of Method 202.Air Control Techniques, P.C. provide a variety of testing and engineering services to industrial clients, including those dealing with condensable particulate matter. |
