Electrostatic Precipitator with Field Trip Problems Serving a Long Dry Cement Kiln |

Air Control Techniques, P.C. evaluated problems contributing to
electrical shorts in two fields of a precipitator serving a long dry
process cement kiln. Following detailed internal inspections and
diagnostic tests, Air Control Techniques, P.C. identified thermal
expansion-contraction problems, support insulator problems, and rigid
frame problems. The correction of these problems allowed the unit to
operate in compliance until the entire kiln system was replaced.
