Stone Crushing Plants NSSGA Sponsored Compilation of PM10 and PM2.5 Emission Factors PDF Print E-mail
Air Control Techniques, P.C. designed and conducted fugitive PM10 emission factor test programs at a number of stone crushing plants as part of a cooperative program between the National Stone, Sand and Gravel Association (NSSGA) and the U.S. EPA. This testing involved the use of quasi-stack enclosures for testing tertiary crushers and conveyor transfer points. An innovative traversing hood system was developed by Air Control Techniques, P.C. for testing sloped, vibrating screens. Upwind-downwind sampling procedures were used for evaluating emissions from large storage piles. As a result of this testing, the U.S. EPA has replaced many of the relevant emission factors in AP-42 with emission factors that are considerably more accurate.
