Secondary Plume Test Program Design and Quality Assurance Monitoring - Oil-Fired Boiler PDF Print E-mail
Air Control Techniques, P.C. assisted in the design of a comprehensive emission testing program to evaluate the intermittent formation of secondary plumes from a set of oil-fired boilers. These tests included sulfuric acid vapor, hydrogen chloride, and total hydrocarbon measurements. Boiler operating characteristics and fuel quality were monitored during the emission tests. Sulfuric acid was identified as the causal agent. Burner modifications were made by the plant to eliminate the condition.
