Air Control Techniques, P.C. conducted internal inspections and
diagnostic tests to evaluate the reasons for excessive particulate
matter emissions from a rotary lime kiln with an adjustable throat
venturi scrubber. Based on this work, it was demonstrated that the
emissions were due to high liquid flow related reentrainment problems
and venturi throat gas-liquid maldistribution. Air Control Techniques,
P.C. helped the plant negotiate a reasonable compliance program with
the state regulatory agency.
